It’s Spring and The Season’s Ripe for Change…
Now and then a platform change is needed; sometimes to add features (much love to the OG Buttondown) or because all you lose features and monetization ability if you don’t hit an arbitrary subscriber count by an arbitrary deadline (*cough*, Medium).
Ghost, the most recent incarnation over the past two years, has a ton of features and integrations. It’s also not as polished or intuitive of a process to use those things — a sure trade off for de/centralized entities.
Ghost was great, but Substack is hot. It’s hot, and it’s just as easy to use. As much as I love getting my hands dirty with manual configurations and / or self hosting, my programming days are behind me and doing so robs other content of its creative energy.
Sometimes too many options are too much to think about.
So, here’s what you can look forward to…
Road Map / What to expect?
There will still be a public free monthly newsletter.
The old site and content are still up for a while in case things break.
Inevitably back links, embeds, and media break during these types of migrations. If something’s missing or out of whack on your favorite post, please send me a message on social.
https://savagezen.co already forwards to Substack.
The subdomain for the old site is: https://savagezen.ghost.io
Paid content will be available soon.
If you subscribed via email before 3/20/2023 you will be gifted a free 1 year paid subscription when it launches.
Exclusive content will include:
General training programs (I am currently re-writing Strength & Conditioning Tier 1 and Tier 2 programs).
Snapshots of my active training regimens (strength, conditioning, capacity).
Extended and additional bonus content from YouTube (my main content hub these days) — think BJJ / self-defense instructionals.
Access to exclusive posts (including labs and experiments).
Access to full post archive.
Comment on posts and engage in community chats.
Please don’t hesitate to send me suggestions on Instagram or Telegram!
